A HISTORIC EVENT THAT YOU JUST CANNOT MISS!
As you may know, Rotary International Conventions are fun, life-changing events and most are overseas – which creates a major barrier for many club members. But in 2018, local Rotarians will benefit from some historically fortunate scheduling. The Toronto convention is an exciting location that is driveable from Martinsburg – or you can fly or take Amtrak.
2018 Rotary International Convention, June 24 – 27 in Toronto. Official online info

FOUR WAY TEST
Of the things we think, say or do –
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
I hope this edition of The Grapevine helped get your week off to a fine start.
We look forward to seeing you each Thursday at Rotary.

YOU. THE GRAPEVINE. OTHER MATTERS.
- The deadline for submitting material to the Grapevine is noon Friday for the weekly issue that goes out Monday. This deadline is necessary so the Grapevine may be compiled and uploaded to the RI server on Friday afternoon to be automatically emailed very early each Monday – to our members and to the print shop, where it is printed/mailed for timely receipt by members who don’t have email.
- Essentials for all announcements to be published: Please be sure to provide sponsoring organization(s), event or project name, dates/times, location, cause, beneficiaries, costs/needs, actions needed/requested, graphic or flyer, and contact name/phone/email, and link to website, if applicable. Please understand that circumstances at meetings are such that reliance on verbal info is problematic, and time constraints rarely permit me to run down missing or unclear info, especially with info presented in the community announcement segment of our meeting. Therefore, please try to provide me with all essential info (in writing much preferred) at our Thursday meeting, or email it to me before noon the next day.
- Community announcements: Although Rotary announcements are the top priority, I have established a special section to showcase community announcements that seem most actionable and relevant to Rotarians. If your community announcement was not included, it is probably because I did not receive the essential info from you at our Thursday meeting, or via email by our deadline. All community announcements to be published for a business or non-charitable purpose or organization should be cleared with the President.
- Know of a member who is not receiving The Grapevine? Please ask them to contact me promptly so that the problem may be addressed.
- Got it wrong or left something out? Please email me right away with all essential info so that it may be published in the next edition of the Grapevine
- Limiting use of special emails: The Grapevine is our general means of communicating with members between meetings. Therefore, to help us avoid excessive emails to our members, please observe the Grapevine’s Friday noon deadline so that your info may be included in the next week’s edition. Any material for a special notice, bulletin or email should be especially pertinent to club activity and too time-sensitive to wait until the next Grapevine. If in doubt, please check with President to insure inclusion. Thanks for your cooperation!
