Grapevine – December 21, 2018

Programs:  Sandy Hamilton, Executive Director of the Berkeley County Development Authority, was our speaker. She shared information about available properties that she is promoting for development. Most inquiries she receives are for light/medium manufacturing space. We had a discussion on the Rockwool plant in Jefferson County and the turmoil surrounding that project. She also indicated that they are hosting a community calendar on their website. If you would like to check it to coordinate events and/or add something to it, it is available to you at www.developmentauthority.com.

Next week:  The Journal will present the year in review.
Coming up:
January 10       Penny Porter, Executive Director of the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle
January 24       Judge Bridget Cohee from the Twenty-Third Judicial Circuit.
Greeter:  Denise Phelps was the greeter and led us in the pledge and invocation.
Guests:
Craig Carroll, Senior District Executive of the Shenandoah Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, was a guest of Pete Mulford.

Club Business:

  • We prepared Christmas cards for veterans. They were signed by members at a previous meeting. During the meeting this week we stuffed them into envelopes and attached a small flag to each.
  • Sandy Hamilton needs greeters for January and February. Pam Wagoner volunteered for next week and Gail Moxley volunteered for the first week in January. Please contact Sandy at [email protected] if you can help.
